AMMAN — Generations For Peace and Laureus Sport for Good have recently announced a partnership that aims to get Jordanian and Syrian youth engaged in their communities.
Through a grant from Laureus Sport for Good, Generations For Peace will be able to implement their Sport For Peace programme targeting 36 schools throughout the Kingdom, according to a joint statement sent to The Jordan Times.
HRH Prince Feisal, founder and chairman of Generations For Peace, said in the statement that “Laureus’ valued support [will] contribute directly to the efforts of this [Sport For Peace] programming, which is further supported by partnerships with the Ministry of Youth and UNICEF.”
The statement added that the grant will allow Generations For Peace to conduct training workshops for 72 Jordanian teachers, in addition to holding two regional gatherings for teachers to discuss their challenges, successes and best practices.
The programme will conclude with an analysis involving 100 youth participants as well as 900 members of the programme’s target group.
