Ghezawi visits northeastern badia over regional development

AMMAN — Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi on Tuesday visited several municipalities in the north-eastern badia region where he was briefed by the president and members of Um Jmal municipality on the needs of the citizens and potential development projects in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister stressed that unemployment is a national concern and that the government is seeking to cooperate with the private sector to find solutions.
He pointed out to the national programme for empowerment and employment, through which the government has allocated JD100 million to gradually replace the foreign workers with Jordanian nationals.
Ghezawi noted that the ministry is looking for investors to establish industrial branches to enhance female employment.
