AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt Hanafy Gabali on Thursday held discussions before the fifth session of the Arab Parliament that was scheduled to discuss procedures to prepare a parliamentary document on food security in the Arab region. Safadi and Gabali stressed the "deep-rooted" nature of Jordanian-Egyptian relations that enjoy high levels of coordination between the two countries' leaderships, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The two speakers said that His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi are always keen on sustaining coordination in service of pan-Arab causes, mainly the Palestinian issue, and realising trilateral cooperation and economic integration among Jordan, Egypt and Iraq. They also agreed to enhance parliamentary cooperation, exchange parliamentary expertise and form a Jordanian-Egyptian parliamentary friendship committee to contribute to coordinating stances in international arenas.
