AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Bin Bandar Al Sudairi on Tuesday discussed the “fraternal” relations between the two countries, as well as mutual cooperation in various fields.

During his visit to the Saudi embassy, Safadi said that the positions of both countries always aim to support the interests of Arab and Islamic nations.

He also affirmed that there is constant coordination and consultation between the two countries’ leaderships, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Emphasising the depth of Jordanian-Saudi relations and the continuous aspirations to developing ties, Safadi pointed out that common issues, shared interests and “strong brotherly ties” drive the work to enhance cooperation in all areas.

He also praised Saudi Arabia's supportive stances towards Jordan, adding that "with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, it has never abandoned its support for Jordan, and this is something we appreciate and value."

Safadi also praised the role of the Saudi Shura Council in defending various issues of Arab and Islamic nations.

Saudi Arabia's contributions supporting Jordan's developmental and investment projects reflect the eagerness of Saudi Arabia's leadership, government, and people to stand with Jordan, he added.

"A few days ago marked the anniversary of the founding of the Saudi state, which is not only a national, but also a historical occasion,” he said, adding that "Saudi Arabia’s establishment will remain a safety valve in protecting Arab national security from any threats".

Jordan is proud of the high level of bilateral relations between the two countries, Safadi said, noting that joint parliamentary coordination with Saudi Arabia is ongoing at the highest levels of government.

For his part, the diplomat emphasised the depth of Saudi-Jordanian relations and the importance of solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, noting that there is constant coordination between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
