Intensified anti-tobacco smuggling measures enacted

AMMAN — The Finance Ministry on Thursday said that the authorities have begun the necessary proceedings to arrest tobacco shop owners selling smuggled tobacco.
All those with direct or indirect involvement in the matter will be pursued, including sellers, distributors, marketers and transporters, a ministry source said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The source added that the authorities have intensified anti-smuggling efforts throughout the Kingdom.
