AMMAN — Interior Minister Hussein Majali on Monday underlined the government's resolve to firmly deal with any individuals who embrace extremist ideology and actively promote it.
Presiding over a high-profile security meeting, Majali described these individuals as "enemies of Islam and humanity", adding that security bodies will take all necessary measures to address extremism and its imminent danger to the country.
According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Majali stressed that the internal front is strong and immune from penetration and external threats, attributing the reason primarily to the vigilance of security agencies and also people's high sense of patriotism.
Majali also underlined the Kingdom's relentless efforts to win the war against terrorism, saying that Jordan will not be lenient with terrorists and will take all needed measures to protect its borders and people, according to Petra.
The minister also voiced confidence in the capabilities of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and other security bodies in safeguarding the Kingdom's internal and external fronts, Petra reported.
He also said that all state agencies work “in complete harmony to protect the country's assets”, adding that Jordan's security and stability lies in Jordanians' solidarity, and their pride and confidence in the armed forces.
Present at the meeting were directors of the Public Security, Gendarmerie and Civil Defence departments as well as secretary general of the Interior Ministry.
