AMMAN — The Senate’s Jordanian-Kuwaiti Brotherhood Committee on Tuesday met with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Dehani and discussed bilateral ties between Jordan and Kuwait.
The president of the committee, Yousef Jazi, reaffirmed the distinguished status of Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations, adding that there are commonalities that bring both countries together based on various interests, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ties between Jordan and Kuwait are based on “understanding, harmony and moderation”, Jazi said. Dehani noted that the “historical” ties between the two countries, since 1961, led to the signing of 17 agreements and memoranda of understanding during Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Sabah’s recent visit to Jordan.
It is a different case of Arab-Arab partnership and coordination, Dehani noted, adding that “Kuwait will not alter its stances on Arab causes, primarily the Palestinian cause”. The ambassador said that Kuwait will stand by Jordan, underlining that his country’s support for the Kingdom is unwavering.
