Jordan to participate in 69th World Health Assembly

AMMAN — Health Minister Ali Hiasat is heading a delegation to participate in the 69th session of the World Health Assembly to be held in Geneva on Monday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The World Health Assembly is the decision-making body of the World Health Organisation, according to www.who.int.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Hatem Azrui said discussions this year are scheduled to focus on the sustainable development plan for 2030, adding that the event will also address issues on non-communicable diseases like nutrition for mothers and their babies and eradicating obesity.
He also said that Hiasat is scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of healthcare, treatment and pharmaceuticals with his Omani counterpart Ahmad Al Saidi, Petra reported.
