Jordan total exports up by 2.3% for Q1 of 2020

AMMAN — Jordan’s trade balance deficit dropped to JD1.627 billion for the first quarter of 2020, a 15.3-per-cent decrease from the figure recorded for the same period last year.

According to a report on foreign trade in Jordan issued by the Department of Statistics on Sunday, the value of total exports increased by 2.3 per cent to reach nearly JD1.3 billion in 2020, compared with the same period in 2019.

"National exports were valued at JD1.193 billion, marking a 7.5-per-cent increase compared to the figure recorded in the same period of the previous year, while the value of re-exports amounted to JD178 million, marking a drop of 22.8 per cent from the same period in 2019," the report stated.

The Kingdom’s imports were valued at JD3 billion, a decrease of 8.1 per cent compared with 2019.
