AMMAN — Rallies were organised near the Israeli embassy in Amman to protest the Israeli war against Gaza and show solidarity with the Palestinians in the war-ravaged strip.

Neda Mohammad, a protestor, told The Jordan Times on Thursday, “Our hearts bleed for the ongoing suffering in Gaza. We stand with them in prayer and protest, every single day.”

Nada is one of the protestors who take to the streets daily, expressing wrath against the violence and collective punishment inflicted upon Gazans by Israel.

Every night, following the Taraweeh prayer, protestors gather in front of the Kalouti mosque and the Israeli embassy. They wave the Palestinian flag, chant slogans in support of Gaza, and hold up placards that read, “From the River to the Sea…Palestine will be Free,” “Free Free Palestine,” and “Ceasefire Now.”

Nirmeen Ayham, a 33-year-old protestor, also said, “Even during Ramadan, the streets are filled with people. We will continue what we started six months ago, calling for a ceasefire and full access to humanitarian relief.”

Ismail Alghoul, a Palestinian journalist, wrote on a social media platform, “Nashama [a term widely used to describe Jordanians, meaning courageous and chivalrous], we trust in you and your voices. Your constant support and rallies have been our solace when everyone else gave up on us.”

Another Palestinian X platform user, Saeed Ziad, expressed his admiration, saying, “I am not exaggerating when I say that the masses of people on the streets of Amman are like archers who have been assigned to protect the people of Gaza.”
