AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah is leading the Jordanian delegation that will participate in the 32nd ordinary Arab Summit, scheduled to commence in Jeddah on Friday.

His Majesty is expected to deliver a speech during the summit's opening session addressing critical issues concerning Arab nations, with a special focus on the Palestinian cause, the foremost Arab concern and a key component of peace in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.

The Jordanian delegation comprises Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Jordan's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Amjad Adaileh and Director of His Majesty's Office Jafar Hassan.

Sources in Jeddah confirmed that all Arab countries are set to participate in the summit's proceedings.

Jeddah has completed preparations to welcome Arab leaders who will convene under the exceptional circumstances prevailing in the region and the world, necessitating the development of political and economic mechanisms to address several crises. This includes addressing complex issues in Yemen, Sudan and Syria, as well as the Palestinian cause.

The summit agenda will focus on enhancing economic cooperation, pushing forward development efforts, resolving the crisis in Syria, intensifying anti-terrorism efforts, eradicating terrorist groups, halting drug smuggling operations, safeguarding Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and continuing efforts to find solutions to the Sudanese crisis while ensuring ongoing negotiations, coordination and assistance to the sudanese people.

The summit will reaffirm the steadfast Arab position on the Palestinian cause and the condemnation of the illegal Israeli practices in the occupied territories.

During a preparatory meeting for the Arab Summit held on Wednesday, Arab foreign ministers approved a series of decisions that will be presented to the leaders, covering political, economic and social dimensions.

Following the meeting, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki announced that the upcoming 33rd Arab Summit will be hosted by Bahrain, Petra added.
