AMMAN — Upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, the army on Monday dispatched a military aircraft laden with humanitarian assistance, including various supplies and blankets, to Iraq.
The consignment, which is part of the Kingdom’s efforts exerted to foster joint cooperation and in line with the brotherly relations between the two countries, was aimed to mitigate the suffering of the Iraqi people due to the circumstances they are going through, a Royal Court statement said.
The Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft landed at Ein Al Assad Airport in Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad.
Parts of Anbar have been under the control of the Islamic State (IS) terror group, which controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
