AMMAN — Jordan’s decision to terminate the Baqoura and Ghumar annexes in the peace treaty with Israel went viral on social media within the Kingdom last week.
Head of the media response unit at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management Ahmad Neimat said that reactions to His Majesty King Abdullah’s Tweet were “positive” and reached international media, which mostly spoke positively about Jordan and its respect for international agreements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Neimat added that the Israeli media expressed three opinions on the issue: The first blaming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his policies, the second opted for attacking Jordan through unofficial accounts and the third called for negotiating with Amman to reverse the decision.
