Meeting held to discuss Jordanian nationals' conditions in Kazakhstan

AMMAN — The government is closely following up on the conditions of Jordanians living or studying in the Kazakhstan, officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

In a virtual meeting held late Sunday with the relevant government institutions, Ministry's Secretary General Yousef Bataineh delivered a briefing on the developments in Kazakhstan, pointing to the country's map and the universities where most Jordanian students are enrolled, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Bataineh indicated that a 24/7 crisis response cell has been formed to closely look into the conditions of Jordanian citizens, and provide the necessary help until tensions ease in the Kazakhstan. Jordan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Yousef Abdulghani highlighted the ministry's measures to support and stay in direct contact with Jordanian expatriates on a daily basis, despite the prevailing circumstances.
