Members of House Foreign Affairs Committee meet with Kuwaiti ambassador

AMMAN — Members of the Lower House's Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday met with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Dihani. Talks during the meeting highlighted the “deep-rooted” Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations in various fields.

Head of the committee MP Mirza Bolad said that Kuwait, with its investments worth $18 billion in Jordan, is the second largest investor in the Kingdom. He also added that some 4,500 Kuwaiti students are receiving education in the Kingdom, while there are more than 62,000 Jordanians residing in Kuwait.

Dihani reiterated his country’s keenness to support Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah, highlighting Kuwait’s support for Jordan’s position in various issues, notably towards the Palestinian cause and the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem’s holy sites.

He added that Jordan’s security is part of Kuwait’s security. Expressing appreciation of Kuwait’s supportive stance for Jordan, the MPs during the meeting called for advancing cooperation and partnership between the two countries’ parliaments.
