Officials foil attempt to smuggle 28,000 pills out of Jordan

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Monday arrested 25 suspected drug dealers across the country and foiled an attempt to smuggle 28,000 pills outside the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Public Security Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said that AND personnel in Zarqa inspected a vehicle and found pills hidden inside.
The spokesperson added that the 25 suspects were arrested in Madaba, the Quisma area, Ajloun, Russeifa, Mafraq and Zarqa. Sartawi said that AND personnel carried out its investigations and referred all suspects to the State Security Court prosecutor.
