AMMAN — HH Princess Sara Zeid on Wednesday stressed the need to extend support to the UNFPA and its partners to continue delivering services for Syrian women refugees.

The princess, who toured the UNFPA’s clinic and a centre for women in the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Mafraq, said efforts extended by the UN agency to provide healthcare services help many women refugees, according to a UNFPA statement.

Maisa Khatib, head of the UNFPA’s reproductive health project, said around 1,500 babies have been delivered at the UNFPA’s clinic in the camp, which is supported by the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department.

Princess Sara also visited the UNFPA’s women centre, which provides consultancy, psychological and social support for women.

The princess also visited the Moroccan Field Hospital.
