AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Wednesday delivered 13 4x4 electric vehicles to the Wadi Araba Development Company, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah during his visit to the area on January 28.

Providing the company with these electric vehicles, which will be followed by a second phase of five others, is part of the Royal vision to support tourist activities that provide jobs for youth and promote the area as a tourist attraction, especially for adventure tourism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The vehicles will be operated in the Nkheileh-Rahmeh area covering tourist attractions in Wadi Araba.

During the handover ceremony held in the Reisheh area, Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, expressed King Abdullah’s keenness to enhance local development, improve the living conditions of citizens and develop areas that can be utilised to establish tourist projects.

The Royal Court chief added that His Majesty always directs stakeholders to implement tourist projects with added value that take into consideration the distinctive features of every area, contribute to providing jobs, and empower local community families to establish income-generating projects.

Nadia Rawabdeh, the company director, praised the Royal initiative that will positively reflect on promoting the area as a tourist attraction for adventure tourism.
