Safadi takes part in Munich Security Conference

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Friday participated in the Munich Security Conference and held several meetings on the sidelines of the conference with several heads of delegation and counterparts participating in the event on means to develop bilateral ties with their respective countries.

The meetings went over regional issues, mainly the Palestinian cause and efforts exerted to activate the peace process and launch serious negotiations to realise peace as per the two-state solution, according to a ministry statement.

Safadi and the officials discussed efforts to reach a solution to the Syrian crisis and ways to support Iraq and Lebanon, the refugee crisis and war against terrorism, among other regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Safadi held meetings with the prime ministers of Lebanon and  Kosovo and the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Georgia, Sweden, Finland and Germany.

The minister also met with the European Commissioner for Budget and Administration, the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, in addition to the President of the World Economic Forum.
