Three handed 18-year jail terms for brokerage firm scam

AMMAN — The State Security Court’s civil panel on Wednesday sentenced three defendants involved in a brokerage firm scam to 18 years of imprisonment and a payment of a JD3,600 fine each, in addition to repaying the JD17.341 million they gained unlawfully through scams.
The court also sentenced six people to three years of imprisonment and a JD200 fine to be paid by each, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Two of the six have to repay the $4.75 million (some JD3.37 million) they illegally extorted from their victims, while the other four have to repay $2.3 million (some JD1.63 million).
