Top achievers in British curriculum honoured

AMMAN — The British Council on Tuesday held a ceremony to honour the winners of the Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards 2015. Deputising for Her Majesty Queen Rania, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat attended the ceremony, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The award ceremony, also attended by British Ambassador Edward Oakden, honoured students of the British curriculum in Jordan who achieved outstanding results on a local and global level in the IGCSE, International GCSE and A-level qualifications set by the examining boards of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Pearson Edexcel.
This year, 107 students were awarded at the ceremony, 38 of whom achieved top in the world rankings, according to a British Council statement.
