AMMAN — Border Guards received 301 Syrian refugees over the previous 24 hours and transferred them to shelters and camps, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said on Monday. Royal Medical Services personnel treated the injured.
Also on Monday, a JAF official said Border Guards foiled an attempt to smuggle 82,000 Captagon pills on Sunday.
The source said in a JAF statement that a Syrian from the makeshift refugee camps near the border attempted to smuggle the pills in a water container that he gave to a driver contracted by an NGO. The people involved in the smuggling were arrested, the source added.
