Earthquake activity in Jordan normal — Seismologist

AMMAN — Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO) Director Mahmoud Qariouti has described the earthquake activity in the Kingdom as “normal”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported Wednesday. An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, followed by four aftershocks struck the southern city of Aqaba on Monday morning.
Commenting on it, Qariouti said the earthquake and the aftershocks are normal activity in the area that occurs frequently. He added that the JSO records all earthquake activities in the Kingdom as well as in the region.
