AMMAN — Finance Minister Omar Malhas and French Ambassador to Amman David Bertolotti on Saturday discussed the debt swap for development agreement signed between both countries in 1999, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Malhas and Bertolotti signed minutes to reallocate the agreement’s JD2.2 million funds to finance the studies and engineering services of the Dead Sea-Red Sea’s first phase project “Aqaba desalination plant”, and a project implemented by the Yarmouk Water Company.
The financing will also include two dairy factories for the Agriculture Ministry and a training centre affiliated with the Finance Ministry. The agreement has financed various projects in the public finance, water, sewage and training.
