London embassy holds reception to promote film shooting in Jordan

AMMAN — The Jordanian Embassy in London on Friday hosted a reception, in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board and the Royal Film Commission (RFC), to promote film shooting in the Kingdom among UK and international filmmakers.

Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK Omar Nahar said that the event aimed at highlighting the available potential of the Kingdom in the film industry, and the possibility to benefit from such an environment to create more jobs, enhance the sustainable economic development and achieve more successes in the tourism sector.

RFC Managing Director George David said that promoting Jordan as a film shooting destination contributes to enhancing the tourism sector in the Kingdom, referring to some films that were shot in Jordan, such as Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones and The Martian, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
