AMMAN — A Royal Decree has been issued approving the 2015 Sharia Judicial Institute by-law, which was recently published in the Official Gazette.
The institute will be established as part of the Chief Islamic Justice Department under the by-law to train the department’s employees to take up judicial jobs and increase their competence.
Moreover, the institute will offer a non-academic diploma programme as well as workshops and seminars related to specialties in Sharia (Islamic law) and personal status courts.
A board of directors chaired by the chief Islamic justice will run the institute. The by-law also lists the admission qualifications for the diploma programme and stipulates that foreign students are allowed to join the diploma or any other programme offered by the institute, according to terms determined by the board of directors.
