AMMAN — The Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee on Sunday met with Nomaindiya Mfeketo, the deputy minister of international relations and cooperation of South Africa, and discussed bilateral ties in various fields.

Both sides highlighted the importance of enhancing parliamentary relations, expressing joint keenness to cooperate and coordinate on issues of mutual interest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Committee Chair Senator Abdul Ilah Khatib reviewed the challenges facing the Kingdom’s economy and the “great pressure” on infrastructure and services brought on by political and security crises in neighbouring countries, especially Syria. For her part, Mfeketo praised the Kingdom’s endeavours to reach international peace and fight terrorism.
