Zarqa council reviews security precautions with members of financial sector

AMMAN — Zarqa Governorate’s security council on Thursday discussed financial institutions’ security measures during a meeting with banks managers and employees from money exchange offices.
During the meeting, which was chaired by Governor of Zarqa Mohammad Smeeran at the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce, Smeeran said that safeguarding financial institutions is a matter of national economic security.
He also voiced his appreciation for the chamber’s social responsibility efforts, pointing to its ongoing cooperation with security agencies to promote the Kingdom as an attractive and safe environment for investment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The governor also said he valued the role of police in dealing with incidents, referring to citizens’ security. The Chamber’s President Hussein Shraim highlighted the Kingdom’s security situation and the “positive” effect it has on boosting investments.
